Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Nigeria Following Tragic Car Crash
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos stated on late Wednesday. The fighter was involved in a car accident in the Lagos area on December 29th, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his team members.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The sports star had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.
“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being made ready for the journey back,” Omotosho said.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the loss of his two trusted companions.”
