The Initial Xbox Game Pass Additions of 2026 Reveal Xbox Remains Committed.
In numerous discussions, enthusiasts continue to ring the knell for Microsoft's gaming division. Xbox was recently outsold by a lesser-known competitor. Dedicated Xbox communities began covering about PlayStation as a new development. The past year represented a period of total upheaval for Xbox and Microsoft. But if we're going solely off the titles headed to the service in 2026, it's evident that Xbox continues to plan to draw people in with compelling titles on its key platform.
The Current Inclusions
The two games that are immediately available at this moment, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, don't represent the biggest draws. Rather, it's what is coming to Game Pass soon that's worth getting excited about.
Major Titles on the Horizon
Starting January 13th, the platform will add the underrated Star Wars Outlaws, a vast exploration title that deviates from the standard Ubisoft formula with a cosmic robbery tale. An additional significant inclusion is Resident Evil Village with its iconic tall vampire, which our 2021 review called "the perfect cocktail of terror and combat."
Compelling Indie Titles
Yet, the less-hyped additions coming to Game Pass soon are quite compelling. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, the criminally overlooked roguelike that is incredibly fun, drops on Jan. 7th — and it's worth experiencing even if you missed out on the first Lost in Random game.
The British post-apocalyptic game from last year might get its hooks in you remarkably quickly.
Atomfall, a survival title with stealth elements by the makers of Sniper Elite, is also a game to check out. Ultimate tier members also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to look forward to.
A Solid, Curated Lineup
Ultimately, these titles aren't industry-shaking releases to Game Pass, and they don't represent first-party juggernauts that are the sole reason for the service in the first place. Yet, this selection are exceptionally strong. There's a good mixture of old games you might have missed and relatively recent releases that failed to receive the spotlight they warranted upon launch — which makes them perfect candidates to find a new audience on Game Pass.
Hope you're ready to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, however.
