Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson will return for the latest Hunger Games series movie, Sunrise on the Reaping.
News has broken that fan-favorite actors Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson will reprise their iconic roles in the newest chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The project is now in the works.
A Significant Reunion for Fans
The duo will once again portray Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, the roles they originated. Industry whispers indicate their roles will take the form of a brief glimpse ahead, given that the original saga concluded with their characters married and with children.
This represents the sixth installment in the highly successful Hunger Games franchise.
The Source Material
Sunrise on the Reaping is based upon a recent book by series creator Suzanne Collins. It acts as the follow-up prequel after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Once again is Francis Lawrence, who was behind the majority of the previous films in the series.

The film's story are set roughly two decades prior to the first Hunger Games, spotlighting a young Haymitch Abernathy. Haymitch, later known as Katniss's mentor, is featured as a tribute in the notorious 50th Hunger Games.
The cast also includes several notable actors in important characters:
- Jesse Plemons is playing Plutarch Heavensbee.
- Ralph Fiennes will appear as a earlier incarnation of the menacing President Snow.
