FC Barcelona to Host First Game at Partially Completed Camp Nou this Saturday

The club confirmed their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome the Bilbao team in domestic competition two and a half years since relocating for construction to commence.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity though over 45,000 attendees can be present under the licence granted. Once fully finished, the stadium’s capacity will reach over 104,000 attendees, up from the previous 99,000. Officials confirmed recent additions comprise a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.

Stadium Testing

The club conducted an open training session inside the stadium earlier this month. The club said approval is being pursued by UEFA for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt in December at the stadium. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
